Peace Garden State

We took a quick trip across the northern tier of North Dakota. We wanted to stay in Rugby but electrical issues made us move on to Minot. This is the Gol Stave Church that is the center of the Scandinavian Heritage park. |
| Inside the visitor center. |
There is a loop in the park with many interesting historic structures. |
| I liked this sign. |
The Gol Stave Church is an exact replica of a church in Norway. This is the inside. No nails, just joinery and pegs. |
| Intricate carvings were everywhere. |
A fancy gate mimics the larger structure. |
| A nice museum adjacent to the park. |
Next we went to the Dakota Territory Air Museum. This F15 is a retired version of one of Andrew's first fighters. |
| A nice collection of air memorabilia. I like the stewardess at the top. |
A P51 Mustang with black tail that signifies it was based in China. |
| That evening we headed to the International Peace Garden. |
The Peace Garden also hosts the International Music Camp. We got in on the final concert of one of the sessions. |
| The gardens were first built in the 1930s by CCC crews. |

There is canal down the international border. Thus I am standing in Canada and the US at the same time. And I didn't have to show my passport! |
